Two to Attempt Cuba to Key West Stand Up Paddle
Professional adventurer Douglas Stoup from Olympic Valley, CA and amateur adventurer Frank Fumich from Arlington, VA will attempt to Stand Up Paddle Board non-stop and unassisted, from Cuba to Key West, FL. The team hopes to complete the 118 mile paddle on their Tahoe SUP Zephyrs. The trip will take about 40 hours, depending on the ever changing weather and sea conditions.
The Team will fly to Key West, FL September 24, 2012 and will monitor weather. The expedition will begin in Cuba and they plan carry all provisions needed on the boards. Stoup and Fumich are paddling to raise money and awareness for the Ice Axe Foundation, and the Wounded Warrior Project.
