Growing up in a seasonal beach town, Courtney has always been active in water sports–no matter the time of year. Her first stand up paddling experience was catching waves in a drysuit, in the below freezing weather of Lake Michigan with her dad and brother. She now lives in Los Angeles, enjoying warm water year round, and is finishing school to become a special education teacher. She loves to volunteer in the SUP community, bringing the sport to those with handicaps or who are less fortunate. Although spoiled by the never ending sunshine, she hasn’t let go of those cold roots, and is currently training for an extensive SUP River Expedition in the Arctic Circle of Alaska.
