Communities Rally For 24 Hour Paddle For Cancer
For the 3rd consecutive year, teams of paddlers across North America and Europe will hit the water to paddle for 24 straight hours, relay style, to raise money for families within local communities dealing with cancer. The Monster and Sea 24 event has grown into a grassroots movement that brings together paddlers to provide financial assistance to those in need right in the paddlers’ own community.
On April 15th, 2017, 22 teams will embark on the mission. More than triple the amount of teams that
participated last year. Warren King will be part of a 6 person team in Ontario, Canada that will be paddling in rotating pairs all day and night
King will be using his Tahoe SUP Tallac for the journey, a board perfectly suited for this type of adventure. He has been training on the Tallac although his home waters still showing the remnants of a cold winter. His team will be paddling in Frenchman’s Bay, a part of Lake Ontario, northeast of Toronto. King is the owner of Makai Paddle Surf Club in Pickering Ontario and will be participating in the Monster and Sea 24 for the first time.
Donations to the cause can be made through their Go Fund Me page.
