Traveling with Inflatable Paddle Boards to Explore Riviera Maya Mexico
Quick Travel Tips to Escape the crowds with your inflatable paddle boards.
Tahoe SUP Ambassador Kwin Morris makes a run for the border
My new fiancé and I decided to escape the cold and snow of Michigan and go on a tropical jungle adventure. So,we loaded up our inflatable paddle boards in the travel ready back backs they come with and headed to Riviera Maya Mexico!
While there, we paddled each day to amazing sunrises and sunsets, sea turtles, stingrays and ancient Mayan ruins. A typical day would have us pumping up the boards on the beach in the morning, paddle for mile or so to break a sweat and then snorkel on the different reefs. The ability to be on the board, paddling and taking in the sights above the water and in an instant, jump off the board, snorkeling and exploring the sights under the sea made us happy we decided to bring the boards. At one point while paddling, a four foot barracuda swam circles around us on the boards checking them out!
For the Mobile Lifestyle
It was so easy to travel with the boards, get through the airports with no problem at all and carry them up and down from our roomto the beach. People were super curious about the inflatable boards and you could see the wheels
turning as they envisioned having inflatable boards with them on their next vacation. Some people would ask if they could jump in and take a turn at pumping them up to see what it was like, which was fine with us!
The portability really makes it possible to plan to get out and paddle anywhere in the world. The 3-piece Tahoe SUP paddle breaks down and fits in the bag and you have everything you need. There are even compartments in the bag for packing in extra gear.
We are ready for our next adventure with the inflatables, this time maybe a deep river exploration in the Southwest U.S. But more on that later!
